How to Resign

Occasionally members need to resign due to a change in employment, relocation, or other factors beyond their control.  Members who find themselves in this situation should immediately notify the Membership Committee and submit the Member Resignation Form, which shall include the desired date of resignation. Members who submit their resignations should discuss their specific requests and reasons with the Membership Committee before membership status is impacted.

If a member is considering resignation due to a disagreement with a PNA policy or a conflict with another member, they should discuss the conflict with the Membership Committee prior to resigning so that the Membership Committee may intervene to find a mutually agreeable solution for all members.

If a member resigns from their position in the group, but their company wishes to send another person to represent the company within PNA, the company must submit a new membership application for the proposed new member after the departing member has resigned.

Members and their representing companies may not appoint their replacements.  The departing member must first submit their resignation, thus opening their business category.  Once the category is open, prospective members from all companies are encouraged to apply for membership.  The Membership Committee will evaluate all new applications, and there is no assumption that an applicant from the resigning member’s company will be accepted as the new member for the job category.

If a member requests a future date of resignation, rather than a resignation effective immediately, the Membership Committee will review the resignation request to determine if the member’s category needs to be opened before the desired designated departure date. If the Membership Committee determines that the resigning member should leave prior to their desired designated departure date, the member must follow the Membership Committee’s decision and resign at the time the Membership Committee designates for the member’s departure.

Member resignations are permanent and will cause a member’s category to be opened immediately to allow new applicants to apply.  Any member who resigns and wishes to re-apply at a later date will need to resubmit a new membership application. PNA makes no guarantee that a member who has resigned will be able to return, even if they submit a new application.

Membership dues and meeting fees are non-refundable. The only exceptions to this policy are if a member or company remains in the group following the member’s successful transference within the group to another job category or the member’s company’s successful application for a new member to represent the company in PNA. Should one of these two exceptions apply, the member or company will only receive the benefit of the pro-rated membership fee.

Members who request a leave of absence, rather than a full resignation, should discuss their specific requests with the Membership Committee before resigning. PNA makes no guarantee that a request for a leave of absence will be granted, but a request will be considered and reviewed.
